Science supporting Careflow®

Careflow® improves microcirculation. Its mechanism of action in SIRT1 modulation and eNOS activation has been analysed in in-vitro studies. Its benefits have been confirmed in acute and in chronic gold-standard clinical studies.

Characterisation

Careflow® is a standardised whole fruit powder of mango Mangifera indica L. obtained from the subspecies Totapuri (a.k.a. Kili-Mooku). It is cultivated in the Tamil Nadu region of India, at a specific degree of maturity, when the content of secondary plant compounds is high.

Mechanism of action

Careflow® activates SIRT1.  

Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) is a master switch enzyme for energy homeostasis and cellular metabolism. It protects and enhances cell life by increasing mitochondrial metabolism, thermogenesis and antioxidant protection.

     

Careflow® stimulates Endothelial Nitric Oxide Synthase (eNOS).

Endothelial NOS is an enzyme that produces nitric oxide (NO), which facilitates vasodilation and anti-inflammatory processes.


Digested Careflow® showed a significant activation of eNOS, in a dose-dependent pattern. 

Careflow® provides antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.

  • Careflow® stimulates SOD (superoxide dismutase) by more than 45%.
  • Careflow® has anti-inflammatory effect by inhibition of IL-6, TNF-alpha release and COX 1 / 2 activity.

Careflow® improves microcirculation after the first dose.

The relative blood flow is a key parameter for microcirculation in acute studies.

The blood flow was significantly improved with Careflow® compared to baseline. Maximal effects were reached after 6 hours.

Blood flow increased significantly by 54% above the baseline with 100mg of Careflow®.

Careflow® improves vascular function after a month of supplementation.

The reactive hyperemia flow (RH-flow) is an important parameter for microcirculation in long-term studies.

The RH-flow and the responsiveness of the microvascular system are significantly improved after 4 weeks of supplementation with 100mg of Careflow®.

Careflow® is safe.

No adverse event linked to Careflow® supplementation has been recorded.
